What to do in Oahu by Night
Oahu is one of the best places to be in Hawaii. There are a lot of things done during the day, like lounging on the beach, hiking or shopping. But at night, you find yourself looking for activities but you can’t come up with ideas. Not to worry, there’s something that can keep you busy at night in Oahu. Here’s a list of things you could do:
ARTafterdark
This art party happens only on the last Friday of the month, from January through October. The venue is the Honolulu Museum of Art. It is organized by the museum’s volunteers. Every month, the party has a theme. The party is fun entertaining with lots of food and drinks available. So if you happen to be in Oahu on the last Friday of a month, you can check this out.
Twilight Tours at the Honolulu Zoo
These tours happen only on Fridays and Saturdays, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. It is the perfect time to see the zoo, as it’s not very crowded and the weather isn’t hot. The zoo has zoo educators who take you on the tours and tell you about the animals. This is a great spot for animal lovers.
Friday Night Fireworks
If you happen to be in Waikiki on a Friday night, don’t miss this experience. It is hosted by the Hilton Hawaiian Village. You could enjoy the fireworks from the beach or you could buy tickets to watch from the pool at Hilton. Whichever one you choose, you would get an amazing view of the fireworks.
Eat the Street
This is also an event that takes place on the last Fridays of the month from 4 pm- 9 pm. The venue is the Kaka’ako park. This event allows about 40 food vendors to sell food. If you miss “Eat the street”, there are other events you could still attend organized by them. Find out more on the Eat the Street Website.
Moonwalks in Waimea Valleys
The Hawaiians believe that the moon has a deep connection to their culture and history. The moonwalks are a way to honor the moon and show its significance. They also use the moon for navigation. Waimea Valley is a beautiful spot during the day. With its amazing nature, beautiful flowers and the waterfall it is worth a visit. If you want to experience something special try to visit their Moonwalks in Waimea Valley.
Go to a Luau
A Luau is an event that allows you to experience Hawaiian food and culture. You will see beautiful Hula Dancers, enjoy hawaiian food (shop best Hawaiian treat – macadamia nuts here) and learn about Hawaiian culture and history. There are different Luaus on all of the hawaiian islands. Lean back and enjoy the show.
You can find Luaus all over the hawaiian islands. Click the link for a Luau on Maui, Big Island, Kauai or Oahu.
