Beautiful West Maui in Hawaii
West Maui offers some of the most beautiful, picture-perfect beaches on this earth, including the historic port town Lahaina and the beachside resorts of Ka’anapali, Napilili and Kapalua.
Lahaina Town
Lahaina’s Front Street has been ranked as one of the “Top Ten Greatest Streets” in the United States with lot of boutiques, restaurants and entertainment, making it the hub of West Maui’s night life. Lahaina is also a great spot for whale watching during the winter months. Every year thousands of Humpback whales come to Hawaii. Enjoy a whale watching cruise to see them breach and spout.
You also have to visit the Banyan Court Park and its largest banyan tree in America, located at the corner of Front Street and Canal Street.
Lahaina on Maui
Driving a few more minutes on the highway from Lahaina, you will be at the Kaanapali resort hotels, the Hyatt Regency and the Sheraton, home of West Maui’s liveliest beaches. Whether you’re staying in one of their hotels or just passing through, you need to do a short walk on the Kaanapali Beachwalk. You can park at Whalers Village to explore to pathway with lots of restaurants and tiki bars.
VIPs and Restaurants in Lahaina
Have you ever heard of the 70s music band Fleetwood Mac? Then you should definitely eat at their restaurant Fleetwood’s on Front Street. Another great location for dinner is Lei lani’s on the Beach and Duke’s Beach House.
In Lahaina, you can also take the ferry to one of the other island, Lanai. Skip the hassle of airport check-in and security. You might even see some humpback whales during the winter time. The Lanai Ferry leave Lahaina five times daily. ($30 for adults, $20 for kids).
Luau on Maui
You should also see a Luau on Maui which is a Hawaiian dinner, live music and dancing performances with Samoan fire knife dancer. Experience authentic Polynesian music and food in a spectacular show with the reverberating beat of drums, Hawaiian chants, and traditional dance. It might be touristy, but it’s FUN and definitely worth it!
Zipline on Maui
You also can take a zipline tour at Ka’anapali Zipline Adventure on Maui. Leave the beaches of Maui behind and soar over some of the island’s most pristine landscapes. Fly through the air on eight ziplines and soar high above two valleys. Get amazing views of Maui including Molokini, Lanai and the historic town of Lahaina. Discover Maui’s incredible natural beauty during a 3.5-hour ziplining tour.
On West Maui, resorts melt into one another, and it doesn’t take long to lead you to Kapalua, known for championship golf and private getaways. Nightlife doesn’t exactly sizzle here, but the beaches are awesome.
Snorkel on Maui
Snorkel in the morning, grab lunch at the Sea House, then sip cocktails at Merriman’s next door. There’s live music daily in the dining room from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Then, you can take a drive to Napili Kai Beach Resort which offers excellent swimming and snorkeling on Maui and where you can also see some green sea turtles.
Next to it is the DT Fleming Beach Park and Honolula Bay, perfect beaches for surfing on Maui with restrooms, showers, grills, picnic tables and a lifeguard.
