Hawaii celebrates the Fourth of July with vast parties, delicious food, variety of festivities, and fireworks across the Islands. Here is your ultimate guide to the Fourth of July Celebrations in Hawaii, 2022 (Oahu, Big Island, Maui).
Oʻahu
On Oahu, fireworks will be lighting up the sky for four days on the Independence Day weekend. The celebration begins as early as Friday, marking four days of fireworks fun and joy. We have prepared for you the list of the places on Oahu where you can watch the fireworks and celebrate this amazing holiday:
- Hilton Hawaiian Village will set Friday night Waikiki fireworks show on June 3rd, at 8 pm.
- The Independence Day fireworks show and concert at Schofield Barracks is free and open to the public this year! From 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Weyand Field.
- Turtle Bay Resort on the North Shore hosts Ohana Day at on July 3rd. You can enjoy live music there as well as a fireworks show. Concerts start at 4:00 p.m. The fireworks show will start at 8:00 p.m. You can buy tickets here.
- Hukilau Marketplace in Laie is hosting a day full of live entertainment, food, free games, and fireworks. The festivities will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Kailua Beach will have a fourth of July firework show at 8 p.m.
- In North Shore there’s a July 4th Festival, Fireworks, and Vintage Car Show at Haleiwa Beach Park from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Fireworks will start at 8 p.m.
Big Island
Big Island has a bit fewer options for the 4th of July celebrations than Oahu, however, you will still have a chance to see amazing fireworks and enjoy the music and festivities.
- Hilo Bay Blast will set a firework show, including games, food, music, and a variety of fun activities for everyone. Fireworks will start at 8 p.m.
- In Kailua-Kona, a “Salute to Our Hometown Heroes” firework show will also start at 8 p.m.
Maui
Maui is a wonderful place to enjoy Independence Day. Traditionally, Lahaina town is the place to be for the July 4th festivities on Maui.
- After a two-year hiatus, Lahaina’s Fourth of July Spectacular is back. Live music and a classic car show will be held at Campbell Park. Fireworks start at 8 p.m.
Kuai
Unfortunately, Kauai is not yet back to ‘normal’ in terms of big events. The typical festive Independent Day events are going to have to wait until next year.
